In the Middle (Cameron Shawl)

The center of the shawl is finished and flung on the rug for this quick photo. The stitches have been picked up on all four sides for the edging, which I'm going to knit in the round. Knitting in the round avoids grafting the corners, but it means I'll have to purl every other row instead of knitting it.

"Edging" seems a bit of a misnomer, don't you think? There will be 110 rows, which seems more like "middle" than "edge" to me. At a beginning number of 504 stitches per row and adding 4 more stitches each row over 110 rows - well, I just don't want to know or it will simply seem overwhelming. And then after the edging - THEN there's a border to knit.

Whew! What have I taken on here?!?

Oh wow that looks gorgeous. I can't even imagine picking up that many stitches. I would think lots of booze would have to be involved. hehehe

Jess you're amazing! I can't believe how fast you got that knit up with that teeny tiny yarn! Way to go!

Scratch---that is Cameron Shawl being marked off my list of shawls-to-do.

Kidding--it's looking gorgeous, and whatever you do, don't go down that road you are headed down. Don't think about how much you have ahead. Think of all the lovely work you have done already, and the beautiful work of art you will have when you are finished.

Wow - this looks absolutely awesome, your shawl is going to be a real piece of art once it's finished! I agree with you, starting to think about the amount of stitches you're working with might be pretty overwhelming, so it's sure better not to think about it at all!

So gorgeous. That was amazingly fast! I know you can do the rest, just take it one stitch at a time! I'll be cheering you on every stitch of the way!

Thank you, friends. This part was relatively easy, even with teeny yarn. THe borders are something else, though...
